DisCon III will be held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in the Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington, DC from August 25-29, 2021.
The hotel, which features 195,000 square feet of event space with 95,000 square feet of exhibit space, multiple on-site restaurants, an outdoor pool, and over 1,000 hotel rooms, is big enough to handle most everything we do at Worldcon. The hotel and all of its exhibit and event levels are also fully accessible. For those with access needs, we will be providing more information on accessibility as we get closer to the convention.
See our accommodations information for more details on rooms, rates, and booking.
Overflow and Additional Space
We also have some function space at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, located across Calvert Street, a small side street, from the Marriott Wardman Park.
The Area – Woodley Park
The Woodley Park neighborhood is home to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park and a number of restaurants and other shops. It is a mostly residential neighborhood served by the main thoroughfare of Connecticut Avenue.
The neighborhood is also served by the Metro, DC’s subway system, with the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan station being located at the corner of the Wardman Park’s property. The station is on Metro’s Red Line and is fully accessible, as are all Metro stations and trains. Near the Metro station there is a bus stop served by local buses and the DC Circulator, a free local transit option with limited routes. For more information on the Metro and local buses in Woodley Park, visit Metro’s website.
Nearby neighborhoods include Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, and Cleveland Park, each with their own restaurants, shops, and historic sites. The map below highlights some restaurants, shops, and other sites in these neighborhoods and across DC.
