Hosts announced for the Hugo Awards Ceremony 2021

We are honored to announce that authors Sheree Renée Thomas and Malka Older will host the 2021 Hugo Awards Ceremony, to be held at DisCon III.

In June, we made a statement speaking to our commitment to increased inclusivity, listening to marginalized communities, and looking towards the future of Worldcon. Now that CoNZealand is over, and DisCon III is the seated Worldcon, we are delighted to be able to announce that these two amazing individuals will be bringing their spirit and energy to the Hugo Awards at DisCon III.

Both Sheree Renée Thomas and Malka Older were already due to join us as Special Guests at DisCon III, and we are honored that they have agreed to this even deeper involvement, hosting one of the most prestigious parts of a Worldcon.

As we go forward, we will continue to listen to the Worldcon community’s needs and concerns. We acknowledge broad, general statements can ring hollow, and we are focusing our efforts on specific, concrete plans and initiatives for making our Worldcon inclusive and diverse.
